Lifeguard
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Healthy Living, the Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe, enjoyable and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with the YMCA core values, policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required certifications; Current Red Cross or YMCA lifeguard certification, CPR, First Aid and AED.
Required trainings and meetings; Staff Meetings, and Child Abuse Training.
Be able to read and write.
Be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
Be able to relate effectively to a diverse group of people.
Responsible for making sure members follow all rules/guidelines while in the pool area.
Be able to stoop, bend and stretch when performing performing activities with children or adults.
Be able to use sound judgment when making complex decisions.
Essential Functions
Maintain a friendly, professional, and positive environment in order to achieve an overall feeling of belonging at the YMCA.Be punctual.
Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Healthy Living.
