Night Custodian

Position Summary

Under the direction/guidance of the Lead Custodian, the Night Custodian is responsible for the custodial functions during the branches off-hours. The Night Custodian shall support services in accordance with policies, procedures and standards established by the Mt. Sterling Community Center YMCA.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read and write.

  • Successfully pass a background check.

  • To relate effectively to staff and members and to use sound judgment when making decisions.

  • Be able to lift at least 50 pounds

  • Be able to stoop, bend and stand for long periods of time

  • Be able to complete all physical tasks as required by the job

Essential Functions

  • Clean and sanitize/bathrooms and locker rooms using established practices and procedure.

  • Dust and clean study room and game room using established practices.

  • Wash mops as needed.

  • Mop meeting rooms on assigned nights.

  • Vacuums carpets in assigned areas.

  • Replenish restroom dispensers, clean drinking fountains, mirrors, tables, fixtures and desks.  

  • Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.

  • Attend any required meetings.

  • Oversee inventory and submits request for supplies to supervisor.

  • Report any needed repairs to equipment or facility.   

  • Perform related duties as required.
