Choose to Lose
Start off 2025 on the right foot!
Y Choose to Lose is a 8 week wellness competition. Participants can complete individually, as well as as duos, and do not need to be a member of the Y to participate.
2025 Competition
Registration: December 13th - January7th
Initial Weigh -in (Mandatory): January 7th
Final Weigh-in (Mandatory): March 4th
Weigh-ins: Every Tuesday @ 7am - 8 am, 12 pm - 1 pm, 6 pm - 7 pm.
Initial and final weigh-in are mandatory. Must weigh-in an additional two times to be eligible for competition.
Members: $30
Non-Members: $50

Lazy Triathlon

Challenge
1. Run/walk a marathon
2. Bike 112 miles
3. Row 10,000 meters or climb 500 flights of stairs

Track your progress and turn in your paper when complete for an extra chance to win $150 Y bucks (merch excluded).
Each task completed enters your name into a drawing to win the Y bucks at the end of the competition.
Must have required weigh-ins to be eligible as well as completed challenge paperwork.

Challenge
1. Climb 1800 flights of stairs
Details
Track your progress and turn in your paper when complete for an extra chance to win $150 Y bucks (merch excluded).
Each task completed enters your name into a drawing to win the Y bucks at the end of the competition.
Must have required weigh-ins to be eligible as well as completed challenge paperwork.
Rules and Guidelines
1. Participants can compete individually as well as on 2 person teams.
2. A participant does not have to be a YMCA member to join competition.
4. Participants must wear only one layer of clothing during the weigh-in.
5. Weigh-in times are: 7am - 8 am, 12 pm - 1 pm, 6 pm - 7 pm.
6. Participants are required to weigh-in on first weigh-in, last weigh-in and AT LEAST TWO other weigh-in between the first and late weigh-in dates.
7. The first (January 7th) and last (March 4th) weigh-ins are mandatory. In an emergency situation participants may weigh in after the first weigh in date. Participants must weigh in due to special circumstances either on or before the final weigh in date to be eligible for prizes.
8. All weigh-ins will take place at the Mt. Sterling Community Center YMCA.
9. All participants will be responsible for maintaining their own fitness regimens.
10. Winners will be announced after the final weigh-ins at the Mt. Sterling Community Center YMCA.
11. Contest will be determined on a formula that calculates weight loss as well as loss of body fat.
12. Prizes will be awarded in three categories:
1. Duo with largest % loss
2. Male with largest % loss
3. Female with largest % loss
